Maintenance procedures, in particular, are critical since they may require shutdown of one or more sectors of the company. On the other hand it is common a certain maintenance problem to repeat itself several times. But companies in general do not yet have a mechanism to store the knowledge generated in these maintenance in a structured way in order to be used efficiently in the future. In this article the construction of a system for this purpose is presented. The methodology used is that of Case-Based Reasoning (CBR) that seeks to solve a problem proposed from solutions given in the past in similar situations. The methodology starts with the construction of a knowledge base called case basis.
