Abstract

Smart cards have the capacity to store one or many applications and execute them as they are requested. These applications may have a purpose to store personal information, and even execute financial transactions. In case of financial applications, it is necessary to use authentication so that if the card is stolen or lost it can't be used. Thus, the authentication information is of vital importance to block the usage of unauthorized people. That makes necessary to keep the transmission of the authentication information to the smart card secure, this is possible using cryptographic algorithm. The project objective is to use an algorithm of homomorphic cryptography to mantain secret the PIN during transmission to the card.
